The second annual AMA Sports/NASMOTO
Supermoto Grand Championship
took place November 3rd to
5th at the historic Queen
Mary, in Long Beach California.
This years event was a true
test to see who is the best
amateur supermoto racer with
21 states, 3 countries and
over 230 competitor entries
qualified to race.

Joey
Pascarella took dual Championships
at Troy Lee’s Duel at
the Dock. The fourteen year
old GP Husqvarna rider won the
SM2 and the Seventy Thirty Racing
SM1 classes. There was great
racing in all the amateur classes
and five different riders took
home AMA Amateur Championships!
The
SM2 main turned out to be the
opening act of the Joey Pascarella
show. He was the fastest qualifier
in the morning and then took
the holeshot and quickly ran
away in the afternoon. He left
the racing and the rest of the
field behind. Aces Rider Colter
Dimick, Brian Barton and J.D.
Beach were running at the front
of that pack, fighting for second.
By the time they sorted out
their eventual finishing order,
however, the leader was far
out of reach. Josh Jackson’s
hot-blooded Jeremy Henson &
Bakersfield sponsored Yamaha
burped coolant on the starting
line and was sent to the back
row. Eight screaming laps later……
